Are you a true blue epilator gal? Looking to upgrade your old epilator into something much better?
Personally, I like variety when it comes to hair removal. I want a product that would match how much time I have and the results I want.
My arsenal consists of the following:
- Beads Wax – When I want long-lasting results and have more time to spare
- Razor – Perfect when I’m on the go and just want presentable legs stat (I also keep one in my travel bag)
- Epilator – When I have less time and want longer lasting results (like when I’m going away for a trip.)
I’m an avid fan of the Braun epilator, but lately, I’m thinking of getting a new epilator to replace my old, beaten up Silk Epil 3 (SE3). See?
I mean, we’ve been through ups and downs, smoothness and bumps, dated one guy to another (jk!), and my relationship with my Silk Epil is rock solid.
There are some things that I expected it to do (like epilating my underarms or bikini line) but it didn’t deliver, not sure though if the seller shipped an incomplete item because mine didn’t have that precision window for underarms and stuff.
Nonetheless, I love Braun and I’m planning to get a new one from them.
Maybe you’re here looking for the best Braun epilator and honest Braun epilator reviews, I’m glad to have you here and share my brutally honest comments on what I think about some of their new products and best sellers.
So sit tight and get those credit cards ready, we’re going Braun shopping!

Why Braun?
Thanks to German technology, quality, and precision, Braun has been a household name in terms of health and beauty related products.
Such as male grooming devices (like electronic shavers and clippers), female hair removal devices (such as epilators, shavers, and IPLs) and hair care appliances (like hair dryers, curling, and straightening irons).
It’s a reputable brand that most people trust (including myself!). While there may be a lot of other brands offering the same products for a cheaper price, nothing beats Braun’s quality and longevity of use.
In the long run, you’ll get more value out of what you paid for with Braun’s super quality line of products. Take my 5-year-old Silk Epil 3 as an example – still working perfectly well like it did on day 1!
What are The Things to Look for When Shopping for Your Next Epilator?
I must admit, I was a little naïve when I got my SE3, I was easily impressed by the fact that it has 20 tweezers, 2 different modes, a smart light, and massage rollers, but latest innovation got me #SHOOKT!
And the fact there are lots of different, newer models offering nearly the same thing is enough to confuse me and cause me to decide on something I might regret later (like wishing I got the more current version!).
So before that happens to you and me, I want to list the things that I’d consider when buying my next epilator.
I’ll call them Braun-y points, they are as follows:
- Can be used wet and dry (something I can’t do with SE3).
- Can be used cordless.
- The number of tweezers.
- Pivoting Head.
- Lesser pain (with the help of massage rollers).
- Braun-y point for every attachment or freebies included in the package (which mine clearly lacks).
- If it can be used for multiple parts of the body.
- If it’s worth the price.
* Note that I’m not including the SmartLight feature anymore as it is consistent across the most recent Braun epilator models.
So which is the best Braun epilator out there? Oh dear, let me tell you this, these latest Braun models make my old Epil 3 look so Jurassic, it may soon belong to a museum (a Braun one for sure!).
To make things easier for both of us, I divided them into different categories depending on which part of your body you’d like to use it for – legs, underarms, face and yes, your whole body (of course, why not?!).
Let’s get started!
Best Braun Epilators – 2024 Reviews
Best Braun Epilator for the Face
Braun Silk Epil 9 Review
For 2024, we’re all about multipurpose products and for that, I’m living for this Braun Silk Epil 9.
Not only does it come with a wider head and the latest MicroGrip tweezer technology that catches even the shortest of hairs, but it also comes with 7 extras that all work seamlessly with the main device.
You get a shaver head, a trimmer cap, a massage cap, a charging stand, and the star of all facial care routine – a facial brush! Perfect for getting rid of deeply seated impurities and dead skin cells that could cause ingrown hair bumps.
Goodbye peach fuzz! Hello, smooth and clean skin!
Pros
- Can be used wet/dry.
- Cordless.
- Pivoting head (perfect for adjusting to the contours of your face).
- SmartLight (to make sure you’re not leaving any rock unturned).
- Pulsating vibration and massage rollers (lessens pain!).
- 40% wider epilating head compared to older models.
- Attachments-galore!
Cons
- Price is quite high. But with all the extras and the wider head, I think it’s pretty much worth it.
- Since it can be used wet/dry, you can only use it cordless and not use it while plugged (even if you are using it dry, because obviously plugged and wet will cause electrocution!).

Best Braun Epilator for Underarms
Braun Silk Epil 7 Review
Silk Epil 7 and underarms – a match made in heaven!
Built to be most efficient on short hairs (yep, like that on your underarms), this bad boy has a super precise, close-grip tweezers that can pull the shortest of hair even those as fine as a grain of sand (something my Silk Epil 3 struggles with)!
It comes with a high-frequency massage cap to reduce pain (except on sensitive areas like underarms and bikini line – trust me!) and an efficiency cap which is a perfect add on when going over your underarms.
Pros
- Can be used wet/dry.
- Cordless.
- Pivoting head.
- SmartLight.
- High-frequency massage vibration and rollers.
- 40 Close-Grip tweezer.
- Comes with 2 attachments: a high-frequency massage cap and an efficiency cap.
- Charges for 1 hour for 40 minutes of use.
Cons
- Comparing this to the first Braun product to my Braun SE9 review, (which is pretty much jampacked with awesome features and attachments), I find that Braun SE9 provides more value for your money than this one. But, If you want to keep it simple and just stick to what you need, or if you’re a minimalist who wants less clutter on your counter space, then by all means, get this one.

Specifically built for your sexy gams, this hot momma has 40 Close-Grip Tweezers and Soft-Lift Tips that efficiently lifts and epilates the shortest of hairs (.5mm) to get that silky smooth legs you always dreamed of.
Thanks to its high-frequency massage vibration, massage rollers, and the free cooling glove, pain is lessened (depends on your pain tolerance anyway!) especially on the sides and underneath where it tends to be painful.

- Pivoting head.

It comes with cooling Olay wet wipes to improve your epilating experience (they know it’s never 100% painless) along with their signature massage vibration and rollers.

- High-frequency massage vibration and rollers.
- 40 Close-Grip tweezers.
- Comes with an efficiency cap, 2 different sized precision caps, 1 trimmer/shaver head and a pack of Olay cooling wet wipes.
Cons
- Heart attacking-ly expensive, for an older model (I would rather get the Braun SE9).
For a more painless epilating experience – try some numbing creams!
Putting It All Together
Based on the price, functionality (which includes attachments), portability and freebies, I conclude that the best Braun epilator in the market is the Braun Silk Epil 9.
With that price, you get major product upgrades and attachments that are easily interchangeable so you could use it from your face, down to your legs.
Never thought skin care can be combined with epilation, but man (woman), I’m just so blown with the additional face brush. That’s definitely a nice addition to the whole package.
I could really tell it would work well in exfoliating dead skin cells and minimizing not only clogged pores that lead to acne and blackheads but also those nasty ingrown bumps, which I’m having problems with when using my Silk Epil 3.
Sadly I have to say, “Au Revoir!” to my good ol’ epilator to give way to a new one but I’m happy that I get to share my thoughts with y’all and I’m hoping that I was able to somehow help you come up with a good decision.
Which one of the above is your favorite? Have you tried any of the products listed above? Feel free to share your experience. Your suggestions and comments are most welcome.
