Luckily, companies have been catching on! They’re coming out with razors and epilators that leave our skin feeling silky soft, without having to keep running back to store to buy more.

In-Depth Look at Braun Silk Epil 7
Before we get to the full review of this Braun epilator, let’s look at what you should know before deciding to buy it.
Is it Easy to Clean?
The Braun Silk Epil 7 is an easy-to-use and easy-to-clean device.
The head is simple to remove and it comes with a little brush to clean between the blades. It’s also safe for wet and dry use, so simply running it underwater will do the trick!
What Can I Expect? Will It Hurt?
Epilators can be a scary thing to use on your own! Let’s be honest, the idea of pulling out hair doesn’t sound very appealing!
So, does the Braun Silk Epil 7 actually do what it says it will? Will it be painless?
Short answer: no, it will hurt.
Before you turn and run though, keep in mind that the pain is minimal, according to other women. It feels like a slight pinch, not like you’re being tortured! And the pain gets less and less over time!
Keep using it and it won’t hurt as much.
However, if you’re a newbie to the epilator game, perhaps something that can help with the pain is a good numbing cream for waxing.
Yes, you can try it before epilating as well (it’s not just for waxing or tattoos).
Now the Important Question: How Do You Use It?
Using an epilator isn’t all that complicated. But there are some simple steps to keep in mind.
- Exfoliate before each hair removal session.
- Keep your epilator at a 90-degree angle. It sounds complicated, but 90 degrees is, actually, a pretty natural way to hold it. So, if it feels comfortable, you’re doing it right!
- Hold the skin taught while using, to ensure the closest shave possible.
- Move the epilator slowly. Don’t rush! Moving too fast can break the hairs, rather than pulling them from the root. Beauty takes patience!

Braun Silk Epil 7 Cordless Epilator
Braun is, by far, one of the best brands to choose from! And this Braun Silk Epil 7 is definitely one of the best Braun epilators.
It’s pretty high up there on the list of women’s choices for a good epilator. Even I own one!
Obviously, keeping the Braun Silk Epil 7 clean and using it correctly is a must! But, after all, that, does it actually work?
People from all walks of life have been using and Braun epilators are still being used, so they must be actually worth the money.
Experiments must be done – so, I did just that… and here’s what I think:
The Pros
- It’s a fast working epilator best for larger areas (legs, armpits, bikini, etc.), maybe even for the upper lip!
- After proper use, the skin can stay smooth from 4 days up to a week, depending on the person!
- It’s cordless and has a fantastic battery life!
- It can be used wet or dry! Using it wet helps with the pain, but it can easily be used on dry skin as well.
- Missed some spots? No worries! This epilator comes with a shaver attachment for those missed hairs!
- Most importantly, it’s worth the price! I’m ecstatic that this epilator is actually worth the money I spent.
But nothing can be perfect, right? So, let’s get into some of the things I didn’t quite enjoy.
The Cons
- It’s not the best option if you also want an epilator for your facial hair.
- Not the cheapest option out there, but I don’t regret buying it.

Is Buying an Epilator Really the Right Thing for You?
The answer to this question is completely dependent on the individual. But if it’s something you’re curious about, why not give it a try?
There are very affordable options out there. Check out my article on the best cheap epilators of 2024!
And if you feel like this is just not your model, there are a lot of other brands and models that will give you the best epilator for YOU and YOUR needs.
As stated, make sure your skin is exfoliated before using and move slowly, making sure to keep the skin taught while epilating. This will help avoid any irritation and ingrown hairs, as well as ensure that your skin is silky smooth!
I think this Braun Silk Epil 7 is worth the price and, when used correctly, can give you smooth skin for days and days, without the hassle of shaving or spending money on waxing.
